Security infrastructure
The Aon RiskConsole data centre provides high availability internet-based solutions for the risk management industry. This includes providing adequate bandwidth for all users, secure authentication of users, encryption of all system traffic, delivery of HTML system interface and storage of confidential client data.
Our data centre can provide the following:
- high performance: 90 Mb/sec of redundant bandwidth to the internet
- all critical machines are enterprise class with built-in redundancy
- both physical and electronic security has been addressed when architecting data
Connectivity
Internet connectivity is integral to our business. We have taken stringent measures to ensure our internet connectivity remains operational, as well as secure. Our internet connectivity consists of two T3 connections via fibre to two different internet service providers. Both of these are globally load balanced to provide enhanced performance, as well as redundancy in the event of a failure. A pair of redundant global load balancers and Cisco routers are used for this task.
Security
Aon eSolutions uses a multi-faceted approach to internet security allowing controlled access to screens. By using firewalls and intrusion detection systems, the network can be protected from attacks and the threat of attacks. The data between Aon eSolutions and your systems is protected via standards-based 56 and/or 128-bit encryption (SSL). Digital Certificates, issued by us, and third-party certificate authorities are used to provide multiple layers of authentication and to transmit securely.
Upgrades
Equipment and software upgrades are provided where needed. We monitor CPU (central processing unit), memory, bandwidth and other metrics to understand when an upgrade may be necessary so that it may be performed during a scheduled downtime.
